Situation
The Coteaux du Layon are sweet white wines made from Chenin Blanc. The appellation covers 27 communes on both sides of the Layon. The most renowned part is the one closest to the Loire. It includes the commune of Rochefort sur Loire. The terroir is composed of sandstone schist. The vines are between 15 and 65 years old.
